The right school; Profile, score, goal.
The most confusing part of the application process is selecting the right school. When a student begins the search for a program of study, the primary considerations are the Ranking, Tuition Fees and the Return of Investment. While these factors are undoubtedly important, there are other parameters that need to be analyzed - Pedagogy, structure of the program, areas of expertise of the faculty, proximity to relevant industries, clubs and leadership/exchange programs. The idea is to find a synergy between your goals and the program.
Under ivy-Kap's guidance, students have learnt to analyze their school choices and choose the right mix of aspirational and realistic choices to maximise their options.
Geographical considerations can be tied to your goals and profile. For core Masters applicants' the subject of study determines the geography. For instance, if you are an automotive engineer who is interested in specializing in the field, Germany is a good option. However, different considerations apply for MBA aspirants. If applying with more than 8 years of experience, for example, you would do well to look at a one year European MBA program. Alternate options can be found in the A-Pac region. On the other end of the spectrum, a younger candidate, who wants to do management studies can target 2 year programs in the United States or Canada.
